The reinforcement scheme of the moat in Xi'an

The moat in Xi'an has a history of more than 600 years. It was built in the Ming Hongwu the seventh years and the eleventh years (1374-1378). The moat, also known as the nursing moat, is the artificial protective river which the periphery of city wall circled the whole city in order to prevent military attack and guard the city defense.
